Dr. Peter Panton attended college and medical school at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He served his internship at the University of Chicago and his residency at the University of Illinois. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Laser Surgery and specializes in LASIK laser surgery. He has been awarded fellowship in the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Panton joined his father in practice at the Panton Eye Center in 1986. Dr. Panton is married and has two children.

Laser eye surgery has been performed on thousands of patients at the Panton Eye Center since the mid-1980’s. In addition, to the LADARVision Excimer laser utilized for LASIK, the Panton Eye Center has available on-site a YAG laser for the removal of secondary cataracts; an Argon laser to control glaucoma, and a Krypton laser to treat diabetic retinopathy.

The Panton Eye Center has an optical shop with over 1500 frames from which to choose. Large inventories of soft and gas permeable contact lenses are available for immediate fitting and dispensing. The optometrists at the Panton Eye Center specialize in the hard-to-fit contact lens patient who may have been unable to wear contact lenses in the past.

The surgical care at the Panton Eye Center is provided by Dr. John Panton and his two sons, Dr. Peter Panton and Dr. Robert Panton. Each is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and each is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. The Drs. Panton belong to the medical staff of Oak Park Hospital, West Suburban Hospital, Westlake Hospital, and Gottlieb Hospital. Each Dr. Panton has also served as President of the West Suburban (Aux Plaines) Branch of the Chicago Medical Society.
