Dr. Philip Dray is a Chicago native and current Wilmette resident. He attended the University of Illinois and was granted his Bachelors of Science degree in 1976. In 1980, he received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School and took his internship in medicine at Illinois Masonic Medical Center. His ophthalmology residency training was taken at Cook County Hospital and completed in 1984. Dr. Dray is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active staff member of Cook County and Mount Sinai Hospitals. At Stroger Hospital of Cook County (The New Cook County Hospital), Dr. Dray is Chairman of the Division of Ophthalmology.
At both Mount Sinai and County Hospitals, Dr. Dray is in charge of the retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) service where he examines and treats premature infants with ROP. His current professional interests are
teaching general ophthalmology and ROP. Society memberships include: the AMA, ISMS, CMS, and the COS. Dr. Dray is proud to be the Past-President 2003 of the COS.
