Dr. Bouchard is The John P. Mulcahy Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of the Cornea and External Disease Service and Director of the Residency Program at Loyola University Medical Center.

He graduated with a master's degree in Physiology from the Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Bouchard received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School and completed his Ophthalmology residency at George Washington University.

Dr. Bouchard is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Ophthalmology.

He is a member of the International Ocular Surface Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Chicago Ophthalmological Society where is serves as Secretary/Treasurer and the Illinois Eye Bank. He also serves as the Scientific Program Chair and is a member of the Accreditation Comittee of the Eye Bank Association of America.

Dr. Bouchard's practice is focused on corneal immunology, ocular surface reconstruction and dry eye. He also specializes in anterior segment surgery including corneal transplantation, complex cataract surgery and amniotic membrane transplantation.

Dr. Bouchard is married and has two children.
