Dr. David Morimoto graduated from Northwestern University Honors Program in Medical Education, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in medicine, as well as a medical degree. He was selected as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Morimoto completed his ophthalmic training at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago.

Dr. Morimoto is a diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Will Grundy Medical Society, Illinois State Medical Society and American Medical Association. He is also a member of the Chicago Ophthalmological Society; he served as program chairman in 2001-2002. An active member of the medical staff at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, Dr. Morimoto has served on the Medical Center's laser, surgery and emergency department committees.

Dr. Morimoto joined his father in practice in ophthalmology in 1990. He and his wife, Celeste Kaliski, M.D. have two daughters, Emily and Sarah. Dr. Morimoto currently serves as president on the school board at St. Paul the Apostle School. His hobbies include running, triathlons and kayaking.
